I keep thinking ‘that’s it’ for the Iceland posts.
And then I realize I still have photos - and experiences - like these to share.
Yes, the famous Blue Lagoon was as incredible as it looks. In fact, these photos barely do it justice. The bus ride from Reykjavik was across a barren and snowy lava landscape. Finally, in the distance, we spotted steam rising up into the air.
Out of our parkas, into our swim suits and a mad dash across the frigid wooden platform to land in this incredibly blue, hot and impossibly wide natural pool.
As the wind changed direction the mist would rise and fall. Everyone’s voices were muffled. It truly felt as if we were on another planet. At least it wasn’t like the Earth I had known up till now.
Thank you Iceland, for being so breathtakingly, beautifully different. I'll be back soon. Promise.
